The Familiar Man A Short Story eBook TR Stoddard
What a great premise! This aint no ordinary ghost story. Stoddard takes us down through the rabbit hole, but not into Wonderland. Instead, we get to visit an asylum where the most horrific incidents take place right before her protagonist's helpless eyes - and that's not all. There's a deeper connection she has to The Familiar Man in the story, and a great tale yet to be told that leaves the reader just itching for more.Product details

The Familiar Man A Short Story eBook TR Stoddard Reviews
Well written. The story is creepy and mysterious. the only negative thing I find about it is it is a short story and leaves too many unanswered questions at the end. But it preforms its function as a lead in to a longer story, admirably.
i had finished this short story in 5 mins in which i was sucked into its pages. it was so well described each horrific scene after the next that it felt like you were the onlooker, watching everythin but not being able to do anything. very scary. i loved the description, the check on who the familiar man was and the visions in which she is forced to dwell on
"The Familiar Man" is T.R. Stoddard's second published item, and is short, around 5,300 words. There is no easy way to describe the novel without giving too much away, so I'll just say that the story is on the dark side and involves things that may not always be what they seem.
If you haven't read anything by Ms. Stoddard, pick up this short and give her a try.
Review I understand this is a short and I wish there was more. I wanted to understand how the grandfather got where he was and how she became to have the power that she got. I want to scream at every roof top to understand.
I have so many questions about this that my mind feels like it will explode without the knowledge I seek.
Please give it more so it can have a proper birth.

A short story that missed its mark. Sucks you in then confuses you then ends so suddenly you sit thinking, gee did my loose the rest of the story?
The Familiar Man is a stirring and original story. Brilliantly evocative, from beginning to end a staccato series of beautiful linguistically crafted images that range from the stilling and profound to the horrifyingly banal. The reader is absorbed into the same disorienting sense of confusion the narrator is experiencing and the whole thing feels unreal. This is something absolutely worth reading.
From the begins sentence I was captivated! Such amazing detail and emotion. I could almost smell the smells, feel what she was feeling. Its amazing how 16 pages can talk you through so many emotions! Great job )
